Yaanma definition

Yaanma is a Dharawal word meaning to go/walk together.

Dharawal (Tharawal/Turawal/Thurwal) is said to be the language spoken by the mobs/bands that had a relationship with the area south of Botany Bay and the Georges River, west to Appin, down as far as Goulburn and to Wreck Bay near Nowra.

Our logo is a traditional symbol for people sitting, for us it represents the gathering of all people involved in our journey.

Our Story

Founded in 2016, Yaanma grew out of a mutual desire to close the gap and pave the way for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to seek leadership and develop careers as key decision makers.

Today Yaanma reflects origins deeply rooted in the Indigenous community and in the facility services industry.

Our three part union has formed the basis for a company that understands the complexities of the Indigenous community as well as the opportunities and challenges within the realm of facility services.
